Energy Conservation Measures:
1. Classroom lighting was up graded from fluorescent T12′s lamps with magnetic ballast to fluorescent T8′s lamps with electronic ballast. These changes reduced electrical consumption and improved lighting levels.
2. EXIT lamps were changed from either incandescent lamps or fluorescent lamps to Light Emitting Diodes (LED) EXIT lamps. Reduced electrical consumption and have a lifetime warrantee.
3. Gymnasium lighting (metal halide lamps) was replaced with six lamp fixtures with fluorescent T5′s lamps and electronic ballasts. Reduced electrical consumption improved lighting levels and allowed for instantaneous on off control.
4. Energy Management System (EMS) was added which controls the Heating, Ventilating and Cooling systems within the school for time of day operation. This reduced electrical and gas consumption and gave the district to trend track and remotely monitor and receive alarms.
5. Boilers were installed to provide the right amount of hot water and improved temperature for their teachers and students. This reduced gas consumption while improving temperature control.
6. Replace standard V-belts with cog style for great power transmission efficiency.
7. Replaced the electric baseboard radiant heaters with hot water units. Reduced electrical consumption and enabled to properly control temperature settings.
8. Installed controls on the beverage machines to allow normal operation during times of occupancy. Saved electrical consumption.
Performance Contract Summary |
